September set record for Seattle police officers leaving the city, new report shows

Officers from the Seattle Police Department who opted to leave employment with the city set a record last month, according to a new report on attrition released early Friday by Mayor Jenny Durkan’s office. According to the city’s year-to-date report on employment levels, 53 Seattle officers left the department: 36 fully trained officers; three officers in training; and 14 officers who went on extended leave.
