Hundreds of thousands without power as Ice Storm Warning remains in effect in Portland

Power crews struggled all day and into the night Sunday to restore power to hundreds of thousands of customers, as the Portland-metro area remained under an Ice Storm Warning. Portland General Electric called the ice and wind storm, which began Thursday, the worst in the last 40 years. The utility said more than 4,400 power lines had come down in the storm, knocking out power to 376,000 customers. PGE said it had restored power to 155,000 customers but as of 6:30 p. m.
